This is a delightful chambres d'hôte in a charming 11th century priory under the shelter of the lovely old village church of Cressé. The prieuré is also an intriguing brocante where guests can browse for that special antique or gift for someone special. The village is set in the beautiful Charente Maritime countryside where the luscious vineyards and sunflower fields make even the shortest drive a visual delight. There are bicycles available for the adventurous and healthy and the roads are rarely shared with any other traffic. Comfort and good taste is not spared the guests who come to share this idyllic spot with the host. The rooms are attractively French with comfortable furnishings and many antiques. |

After a delicious dinner consisting of local specialities prepared by Nadine there is a jacuzzi in an exquisite setting for you to enjoy the warm evening gazing at the stars. During your stay you can visit the lively town of Cognac and perhaps take a tour and tasting at one of the grand distilleries. On the coast, a pleasant hour and a half away through country roads, is La Rochelle with it's ancient harbour and beautiful yachts and not forgetting, of course, the smart shops and the dozens of fantastic seafood restaurants overlooking the sea. |
